Incredibly bad service. Have been coming here for years as a Spanish National and oh my word the frustration. The bad reviews are spot on and accurate. The other reviewers? Honestly? Sure, you might encounter 1 helpful person by shear luck. But it's strictly Powerball odds - not good. Have even considered driving to Canberra to avoid this place - says it all.
Probably the worst embassy I ever been to for visa application. I needed a tourist visa to go to Barcelona, but after having all the documents in order and two valid credit cards and more than twice the amount mentioned in the checklist in my account. The officer was rude and did their level best in humiliating me by saying "I am not convinced u have the funds to last till u arrive in Spain to stay here in Australia" and I was asked very personal questions which the officer had no business of knowing like what my rent in Australia was and asked me to prove that I paid for rents on time. And refused to process my visa application so I don't have to pay for the visa fee. Thereby ending a well planned Christmas trip to Barcelona with my mates. And it ended me in tears for the next two days and made my hate myself. My guide to others AVOID SPANISH CONSULATE IN SYDNEY AT ALL COSTS GO TO SOME OTHER EMBASSIES FOR YOUR SCHENGHEN VISA.

My experience was good even though I had to go back with a document I was missing. The website could be more specific when they say you need a copy of your current visa in Australia it must be through VEVO. Other than that the guy that help me was quite nice. I had been there 3 times and cant complain about the service provided.
