I cannot understand the bad reviews, at least for me the service was always superior. Since I came to Sydney, I had got no problems on residency registration, remote voting, renewing my passport and even with the birth registration of my new born baby. Reasonable waiting time in the office as well as on documents reception.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. The customer service there is atrocious. One of the worst Ive ever experienced. Particularly this one female staff working there, she was extremely rude and very impatient, although they werent even busy. She was also bad mouthing to her colleagues about a customer in Portuguese. (My friend who was with me at the time is Portuguese). Brazil is such a beautiful country but the staff that work there are a poor presentation of the country. So disgusted with this place. Management should re-evaluate and re train their staff, especially their mannerisms.
Have needed to deal with them several times (passport, real estate, other documents, etc). Was always well taken care of, plenty of good will if you are polite and work with them. You need to remember they are a public service bound by specific rules, I think they do try to be helpful within the bounds of what they can. I'm not connected to them, just a satisfied customer.
