I think with all the rude lady comments are referring to one particular shocker of a person - in her 30/40s, long black hair wearing glasses. She was rude, picky, and does not know how to communicate with people without having an extremely condescending tone of voice. Her choice of words were disrespectful and distasteful, making people feel like children who dont know how to fill out forms. She kept trying to speak to me, a native Japanese speaker, in English (her English is incomprehensible) and kept interrogating me if I had Japanese citizenship when I dont. I only went there to apply for a police check however she literally went off for 20mins just check my citizenship status. Seriously what is her problem!? She shouldnt be working there. Fire her ASAP!!!
Quick organized service. I called before I applied my visa, the lady answered my call sounds very cold! I have Australian passport which allows me 90 days visa when I enter Japan, I have been Japan many times, I love all the time I spent there, I want to stay longer, Canberra Japanese embassy suggest me to applying 6 -12 months visa, but I living in NSW, so I need to apply in Sydney, when I called sydney and asked some questions regarding this visa, the lady said to me: is 3 months not enough?(with a rude harsh impatient tone), I told her it is not enough and that is why I called for longer! If Japanese government thinks it's enough, why since 2015 tried to offer longer visa? If you don't want offer, I don't need to apply, if you offer, why not help me with my questions?Today I got my 6 months visa. And if I need another 6 months I need extend at Japan. All the visa application need make appointment to lodge, of cause you can mail your application too. I met a couple just turn up without appointment, of course were turned off. Strictly you can only enter 10 minutes before, I was 20 before, so went lobby and waited another 10 minutes. Door man use the security scan check the bags, before people complaining doorman was rude, but this one must be new really a gentleman, helpful, polite. After enter you need take a waiting ticket from machine, then wait. Waiting time is about 10 minutes. 5 Windows, staff all seems pleasant by Australian standard.
Get the online appointment first..Following all the instructions. Double check. There will be no problem
If I can give this place negative stars I will. They have the worst service ever, the lady has the worst manners, so rude. I've prepared all the docs required for a tourist visa for my husband and we are transiting in Taiwan, they even asked us for our Taiwan visa, which wasn't even on the list of required docs. They are not even Taiwanese government, why should I supply that to them and if they need it, they should ask nicely. Furthermore, I am transiting in Taiwan, i could stay in the airport - why do I need to have a visa (we do have a visa anyway). The rude lady also accused me of lying when she asked how old are the photos and I replied several months. What is her problem? and why the hell can't you use your cell phone when you are in there? I turned it into flight mode and they were like no you have to TURN IT OFF.. The most ridiculous place and the rudest person I have ever met. Japan gov should really rethink of who they hire to represents their country. This is definitely what I would expect from Japanese people and by far the worst visa experience I've ever had.
Follow the instructions provided on their website and you should not have an issue. Funny how people didn't follow written advice and complaining. Get your act together and the process would be quick and painless.
