A nice bar in city that we've been coming to the last few years.
Nice interior, ugly outlook, good barman but very poor table service. Unapologetically forgot half a food order (1 of 2 dishes for 2 people!), didn't have the right ingredients for a cocktail on their menu but made an approximation anyway at full price. Service not what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.
This was perhaps the worst bar I have ever been to. Service was slow, drink selection was mediocre at best and they had a terrible security guy who decided that he wanted to RSA my friend after her second drink. She wasn't anywhere close to being drunk. To top it off, she was a hotel guest. The only saving grace were a few friendly waitresses.
We were planning to hit Baxter's on Sunday night and we're extremely disappointed when we found 8t closed. Desperately looking for our whiskey fix we found online that Grain in the Four Seasons could be a good option. So we walked back and was really happy with what we found. A quiet bar, well stocked with great staff. We picked and enjoyed three different whiskeys which were all fantastic. Dessert had to be ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. Loved the quiet and relaxing ambiance which allowed us to have a real conversation which is often difficult in a bar. We will certainly return again.
One of my favourite whisky bars in Sydney. Not all whisky bars need to be speakeasies. Grain has a nice clean look with a mix of high and low seating. A fire place and around 10 stools at the bar.
