We found this spot as we were walking past on the way for dinner. We were intrigued by the sewing machine at the door so decided to pop in as we had some time.It's not huge and there was a lot of reserved tables so we were lucky to grab a couple of seats. Drinks were nice and service was good. The food menu also sounded nice and reasonably priced, if we weren't heading for dinner we may have eaten there.
My favourite basement bar in Sydney, Stitch Bar offers a truly original theme and delicious food and drink. However, for me what really makes this place such a stellar hangout is the price of the cocktails and the size of the bar itself! The cocktails on offer are reasonably priced, particularly when compared to other venues, and the bar itself is big enough that even on a busy night you won't have to wait too long for a table to open up. A must-go for anyone looking for a new favourite bar.
Interesting place with some really cool wall artwork. Definitely has some character. Fills up quickly so grabbing a seat can be a challenge, but atmosphere makes it worth it!
This is what you call a true speakeasy. No signs. Underground. Hidden and tucked away. Nice jazz music playing in the background. Makes for a perfect ambiance to chill out end of a working day. Like any place in Sydney, it does get rowdy at times, something I dont understand at such neat spots like this bar. Some people dont realize the difference between a sport bar and speakeasy. It would be great if the staff encouraged the loud crowds to tone it down a bit. Other than that, its one of my very few favourite bars in town. The hotdogs are superb! Must try.
The ambience is really good. Loved the food at the earlier visit which was a farewell of a colleague. If you haven't search for it or know it beforehand, chances are you would walk pass without even noticing it. Overall very good place to hang out with mates. Going again for lunch, would update based on the experience.
