Went there for the high tea that starts at 11.30 and finishes at 2.30. Needs a huge upgrade furniture is old, is clean though. Sweet treats and savory creations were delicious. The bar worked very slow even though there weren't that many people. Cocktails are filled with heaps of ice. (after seeing one of the bartender picking his teeth with his fingers and then make a cocktail made me feel sick). The views are amazing!
Its really nice to see that when I arrive waiting at the Blu bar to be seated, the girl who works there serves her mates first.1. They walked ahead of us in to the bar to drink2. Get seated before us3. I and my group end up having a a bad experience.I expected more from a bar like this.
Don't get there for high tea, you wait a long time to get seated, 2 people to serve a full room, a buffet with a long queue and sugar loaded drinks. Certainly better places to enjoy a high tea. The view is of course good, but only for a few guests and this is not the only place like this in Sydney.
Waited at the bar for 15 minutes with about 10 other people before a stressed Barman finally acknowledged us and said it would be 20 minutes before we would be served. Our group arrived at 5:30pm on a Thursday and it wasnt that full so not sure why there was no service. We left disappointed without a drink. We went there for the views and cocktails but the reality was it was dated and disorganized and they are living off a good reputation they had 10 years ago. They really need to get things together. Would not go back there. Had great service and drinks in Harts pub down the bottom of the hotel.
Would love to be able to give a review on the quality of the drinks sadly wasn't allowed in. I took a group of international friends to Blu Bar and we were refused entry because one member of our group was wearing Birkenstocks. These were considered thongs/flip flops and against dress code. Perhaps, if this a rule you are unwilling to be flexible on, you should state this somewhere. Not on the website (only reference is to smart casual), not in the lobby, not in the elevator, not as we queued to get in....no mention?! Yet someone ahead of us arrived in sweaty, smelly sports gear and was allowed in? What sort of standard is that?
