With so many fine dining restaurants losing the white table cloths, I'm so glad est. has not! Every experience here has been a symphony of perfection (except for my first time, where I ordered the squab pigeon and the waiter told me not to as it was for a mature palate, making me feel like a child. That was 10 years ago. They have since made up for it).Even at a table of 6, all diners plates are lowered before them at the exact same time. Soft furnishings create the perfect acoustic environment; no yelling is necessary in order to communicate. How very rare in the Sydney dining scene. Est. - you are a delight.
The service was lovely and attentive to our needs, making us feel comfortable and well provided for. The food (tasting menu) was served promptly and the courses were delicious. Some of them has an acquired taste but still beautiful.
Great place with good food but service can definitely improve. Not a single person asked us about how to food tastes or followed up with us during the meal. Felt quite strange. Food is great except the veal which is served with a sauce without taste.
